In 2022, after years of busy life in Belgium, we decided to leave everything behind and explore the world with our two children. COVID had taught us one essential thing: life is too short to postpone what makes us feel alive.

Our first visit to Essaouira changed everything. The city cast its spell on us immediately: the unique Atlantic light, the blue and white alleys of the medina, the wind carrying scents of argan and sea salt, and above all that rare authenticity you no longer find in Morocco's major tourist cities. Essaouira has remained itself — humble, warm, magical.

We stayed. Simply because Essaouira gave us what we had been looking for without knowing it: a life at the rhythm of the ocean, breathtaking sunsets, endless family activities — surfing, horse riding on the beach, hiking to waterfalls, nature walks.
